AMC Cinema 4 in Harlan Closes Permanently

It appears that Harlan county has lost it's AMC Cinema 4 Theater. Many local residents posted on social media about receiving an email from AMC that alerted them that their location to view movies had been switched to the Middlesboro location.

The email was as follows.

Many were confused and concerned about the email and the possible closure of the location.
Rally News reach out to AMC and ask them if the location would reopen in the future and they replied with the grim news.
"..we will unfortunately not be reopening this theatre"

Here is a screen shot of the message.

So, it appears that indeed the theater has closed permanently. The is sad news as many still visited the theater. Over the years the theater had became a little run down but when AMC purchased it, there was hope it would be upgraded but that is just not the case.

The theater was ran for year as Carmike Cinema 4 but was recently sold to AMC a few years ago.
With the closure, Harlan is left without a theater.
