Do I Have To Wear A Face Mask in Kentucky?

Do I Have To Wear A Mask in Kentucky?

There seems to be some confusion about whether or not you are required to wear a face mask in Kentucky. At first it seemed as if Governor Andy Beshear was signing an executive order that required face mask, but later it seemed as if it was optional. This is probably what lead to some confusion.
In a quest for clarity, Rally News reach out to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron on the issue.

AG Cameron's office send us the following reply.

The key part is this
"...the Governor is recommending that Kentuckians wear masks, but he has not filed an executive order requiring Kentuckians to take this action...."

But that is not all you need to know. Some area businesses, like Walmart, may require a face mask to shop in their store. At this point, it is merely recommend by some area stores. This could change in the near future but if it does, there should be signage at the entrants ways.
At this time it appears to be up to the business as to whether or not they require customers to wear a mask or not. If this is something you are opposed to, then you may be able to shop online and either have the items delivered or pick them up via a curb service. Please check with each store for their policy.

We hope this helps clear up any confusion and we want to say thank you to Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron. Thank you.
