Increase in STDs Creating a Play At Your Own Risk Environment

In the United Kingdom, 448,422 new cases of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) were diagnosed in 2012, a report by Public Health England showed.

Health authorities offer two solutions: 1. practice safe sex and 2. getting tested annually or when one moves on to another sex partner.

I think a 3rd solution would be to practice abstinence until marriage but of course that is not very popular.

The UK numbers are fairly low when compared to past statistics from the United States.
In 2011, a total of 1,412,791 cases of Chlamydia trachomatis infection were reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This was an 8 percent increase from the 2010 reports.
There was even more bad new for sex in America when it comes to Gonorrhea reports.
In 2011 there was another 4.0% increase with a total of 321,849 cases of gonorrhea reported in the United States.

There was a little good news in the United States when it came to the syphilis report. Only 360 cases reported in 2011, a 19% decrease since 2008.

Some of these increased numbers are alarming creating a "Play at your own Risk" sexual environment.

Famous people who had some form of STD that contributed to their death.

Al Capone, American Gangster in Chicago nicknamed "the scarface" - from wiki:
Capone's control and interests within organized crime diminished rapidly after his imprisonment, and he was no longer able to run the Outfit after his release. He had lost weight, and his physical and mental health had declined. On January 21, 1947, Capone had an apoplectic stroke. He regained consciousness and started to improve but contracted pneumonia on January 24. This caused him to suffer a cardiac arrest the next day (possibly associated with the complications of third-stage neurosyphilis).[citation needed] Capone died after the arrest.
